Gorder To Wrestle For Minot State University


Poplar’s two-time state wrestling champion Jazmin Gorder has signed to compete with Minot State University’s wrestling program. Gorder said she knew she was going to attend Minot State after a visit to the school late in 2021. “I had my mind made up. I just didn’t tell anybody,” the senior laughed. Minot is entering its first season of having a women’s wrestling program.

Area Gymnasts Fare Well At Minot Meet March 5-6


Each of the three different Eastern Montana Gymnastics teams won a team award at the Rebel Roundup Gymnastics Meet at Minot, N.D., on March 5-6. The gold team won first place out of six teams, the silver team won second place out of five teams, and the bronze team won third place out of six teams. The Froid-Lake Red Hawks qualified for the state championship boys’ basketball game for the first time in the co-op’s history on Thursday, March 10. The Red Hawks advanced not by a small margin but rather with a convincing 46-35 victory over Roy/ Winifred. “It’s an awesome feeling.
