Lustre’s girls’ basketball squad jumped out to a strong start and downed Nashua, 3728, on Friday, Jan. 21. The Lions led 11-4 at the end of the first quarter and by an 18-10 half-time margin. Lustre then ran off 15 points in the third quarter for a 33-18 advantage. Top scorers for the Lions included Grace Brown with 14 and Alexa Reddig with 11 points. Aubri Holzrichter added eight points.

The Wolf Point Wolves suffered a 68-38 boys’ basketball defeat at Malta on Saturday, Jan. 22. The first-place Mustangs jumped out to a 21-6 advantage in the first quarter and held a 42-15 half-time lead. Malta held a 65-26 advantage after three quarters of play.
