The Poplar Indians were outscored by Rocky Boy, 74-48, in the first round of the Northern B boys’ basketball divisional tournament in Glasgow on Thursday, Feb. 24. Indians Knock Off Conrad, 77-45, At Tourney


The hot-shooting Poplar Indians cruised to a 77-45 victory over Conrad at the Northern B divisional boys’ basketball tournament in Glasgow on Friday, Feb. 25. The Indians, who never trailed in the contest, jumped out to an 8-2 lead as Kaniel Ricker connected on two three-pointers and Dennis Red Eagle scored inside for Poplar. Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team will shoot for one of three state berths during the divisional tournaments that starts Thursday, March 3, in Cut Bank. The Wolves will open against Conrad at 6:30 p.m. Other first-round games feature Malta against Shelby at 1 p.m., Glasgow facing Cut Bank at 2:30 p.m. and Harlem meeting Fairfield at 8 p.m. Wolf Point Coach Frank Benson says Conrad’s
