Max Hagadone


Max Hagadone, 52, died on June 16, 2021, in San Diego, Calif. Max was born on Dec. 24, 1968, to Cliff and Nora (La-Verdure) Hagadone he grew up in Wolf Point and graduated in 1987. Always the ham, Max was well known for his teasing and you could always tell because there was a twitch on the side of his jaw while he was trying to keep a straight face. His only sister was his favorite victim. He truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working out at the gym. Max loved his dogs and always had one around when he was growing up. Many weekends growing up were spent at Fort Peck Lake fishing and camping. In school, he participated in football, track and boxing as well as band and choir. In 1986, while still in high school, he joined the Army National Guard. In 1987, he joined the US Navy. Max made a career out of the Navy, retiring in 2010 after having served many overseas missions and earning numerous medals. He worked in communications. He loved to travel the world and would always bring home special gifts for his sister. Max was always there whenever his sister needed him, looking out for her. While stationed in Germany, Max met and married LeAnn Gullroy. To this union, two children, Jordan Hagadone and Colton Hagadone, were born. He was especially close with his son, Colton, who looked just like him and has the same personality and ability to tease. Max and Colton spent a lot of time fishing and doing father/son things like going to baseball games and playing video games and just hanging out. He is survived by the mother of his children, Leann; two children, Jordan and Colton, both of San Diego; his sister, Noreen (Hagadone) Hohman of Wolf Point; his aunt, Gertrude Witschen of Hamilton, Mont.; nieces, Amanda (Zack), Jennifer and Gabreal (Ethan) Hansen of Wolf Point; nephews, Darryl (Kaurie) Hansen, Benjamin Brooks (Caren) and Daniel Hohman Jr. (Angela); special cousins, Bob and Beth Hagadone, Susan Twitchell and Geoff Hagadone; the entire Hagadone and LaVerdure families; numerous cousins and extended family; special friends, Jim Summers, Bryce Redgrave, Tammy Archdale and Linda Martinez. If we left anyone out, we truly apologize. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Nora Hagadone; grandparents, Mary and Dugald Hagadone, Lawrence and Eliza Edwards and Horace LaVerdure; his brother-in-law, Daniel Hohman Sr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Max left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a one of a kind. He loved to come home and catch up on the news with his family and friends. “You were my first friend and my best friend. I will miss our phone calls and jabs back and forth. You were the best brother in the whole world…” ~ Noreen “I love you, Dad. You meant so much to me. I love you so much, Dad…” ~ Colton A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel with burial of his ashes to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Katie Lynn Kraus is the 202021 Miss Rodeo Montana. Due to a change in the timing from spring to fall for newly-crowned Miss Rodeo Montanas to begin their reign, Kraus will be making a return appearance at the Wild Horse Stampede. Born and raised in Livingston, she grew up in Paradise Valley, where she enjoyed going for trail rides into Absaroka mountain rage or taking a soak at Chico Hot Springs.

Clarence Fast Horse Sr.


Clarence “Chauncy” James Fast Horse Sr., 52, of Poplar died Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was born on Aug. 14, 1968, at Poplar Hospital to Melinda Shields and Michael Fast Horse Sr. He met Jamie Red Thunder and, to this union, five children were born. He worked at A& S Industries, as a seismograph worker and as security at bingo. He loved bingo, going for rides, watching his sons play basketball and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Clarence “Sonny,” TeAira, Kaine Sr. and Kassius Fast Horse; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Michelene and Lucinda Fast Horse, both of Wolf Point; brothers, Michael Fast Horse Jr. of Wolf Point and John Fast Horse of Poplar; and adopted brother, Stacy “Space Man” Crow of Wolf Point. Clarence was preceded in death by sisters, Cindy Greybull and Katerri Fast Horse; brothers, Gordon and Arnie Fast Horse; sons, Mathias “Whitey” Fast Horse and Anthony “AJ” Follette; and stepmother, Barbara Fast Horse. His funeral service was held Saturday, July 3, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at the Riverside Catholic Cemetery in Brockton. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.

Mycel Harry “Mikey” Young, “Thašúŋka Dúta,” Red Horse, 34, died June 26, 2021, at the Poplar Hospital. He was born in Williston, N.D., on June 12, 1987, to Sarah Lou Three Stars and Orlando Moses Young Sr. He lived his life in Poplar. He attended Poplar Schools and graduated in 2006. He worked as a Fort Peck Tribes Juvenile Detention Center guard, Fort Peck Tribes Fish and Game warden, at Wolf Point Sand and Gravel, Fort Peck Tribes Office of Environmental Protection and as a fencing laborer. He enjoyed playing basketball; dancing with his grandfather, Harry Three Stars, cruising around listening to music with his “kids” (his dogs); and joking around making everyone laugh. He was a gentle giant, enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister, Ashley Vondall; his baby, 'Rosie'; grandparents, Naomi Young, Juanita (Doug) Youngman, Louise Smith, and Beverly 'Shags' Bird. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orlando Moses Young Jr. His funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at the Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements
