Ruth Nichols, , 89, of Sidney died Oct. 14, 2020, at Eastern Montana Veterans Home in Glendive.
She was born Jan. 5, 1931, to Hugo and Mary (Nollmeyer) Klempel on their farm near Lambert, the fifth of six siblings. As a child, she helped herd 2,000 head of sheep during the summer. The family only spoke German at home, so she had to learn English when she started school.

He was born May 10, 1934, near Culbertson, the youngest son of Edward and Elizabeth (Luft) Kaschube and the ninth of nine children.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Brockton Zion Lutheran Church, where he married his lifetime love and partner, Teddy Kao. He attended school in the north

She enjoyed gambling on the machines, playing solitaire on her phone, her dogs, scratch tickets, Stephen King novels and her collection of bald eagles.
