Escarcega Wrestles To First Place

Poplar’s girls scored 46 points and Poplar’s boys accounted for 19 points during the Great Falls CMR Holiday Classic during the weekend. Angelina Escarcega came through with a championship performance at 100 pounds in the girls’ division. She pinned Simms’ Hayley Petersen in 3:02 in the title match. Wolf Point was represented well by high school seniors Julianna Garfield and Rebekah Landsrud during the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii, earlier this month. The event, through Varsity Spirit, featured 800 of the top cheerleaders in the country. The Culbertson Cowgirls knocked off Lustre Christian by a 63-25 final in non-conference action in Culbertson on Saturday, Dec. 17. Culbertson gained a 17-3 lead during the first quarter.
