Wolf Point’s Garfield Earns Sixth Place At State Wrestling Meet
Wolf Point’s wrestlers competed in Shelby this weekend for the Class B state meet. Mason Garfield at 182 pounds and Chance Smith at 205 pounds competed for the Wolves.
Garfield earned sixth place and went 3-3 at the meet. He won his first match against a senior from Simms. He then faced the top seed from Thompson Falls-Noxon. “This was a really good match. It got a little chippy out there,”

Poplar Wrestlers Place At State
Two Poplar wrestlers placed at the Class B state meet held in Shelby on Friday and Saturday, March 5-6.
Jase Frederick earned fifth place at 120 pounds. He is a three-time state placer.
Frederick outpointed Drew Carey of Plains/Hot Springs, 5-1, in the fifth-place match.
Jacob Berger placed sixth at heavyweight. He is a twotime state placer.
