Frances “Fran” Marie Otterstetter Lagerquist, 82, died April 24, 2026, in Billings. She was born in Wolf Point, Montana on May 7, 1943. She was the oldest of nine children born to John and Blanche (Griggs) Otterstetter. She grew up instilled with grit and perseverance in the home of two Montana homestead families. Their poverty was offset by strong family bonds. She married Glenn Lagerquist in Mt. Vernon, Wash., on Aug. 29, 1958. Together, they had six children. She worked tirelessly, putting her own needs aside to care for her family, especially her three sons with Muscular Dystrophy. After her husband's death, Fran worked as a housekeeper at Billings Clinic. Known for her joyful spirit, she aimed for 20 years of service. She hit her goal and retired in 2021. Maurice “JR” Draszt Jr., 68, of Poplar died April 28, 2026, at the Poplar Hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1957, to Maurice Draszt Sr. and Mercelline Draszt in Poplar. His Indian Name was Wicana Isnana (Man Stands Alone). He had quite the adventurous life — he lived and traveled all over the United States from Provo, Utah., where he attended BYU, Missouri to Washington and in his final years back to his hometown of Poplar. He loved to travel and would often head out on a whim to wherever he wanted, often back and forth to Washington, California, Mexico and Canada. Throughout the years, he worked for the City of Poplar, NAES College, YMCA and as an EMT. While he lived in Washington, he worked for the Tulalip Casino, Boeing and also cooked in concession stands around the Tulalip area. He was a bartender at Depot, Log Cabin, Stockman’s and Hey Johns. He also worked for Fort Peck Tribes in many departments with the last being the mailroom clerk, a position he very much looked forward to returning to when he was healthy again. He was into many hobbies, but especially enjoyed baking. Every gathering he came to, he made sure to bring some type of baked goods. He could write calligraphy

Katherine “Kathy” Talks Different, “Shunga Wachi Dancing Dog,” 70, of Frazer died May 5, 2026, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow. She was the second child born to Ruby Mae Four Star Runs Through and Wallace Merle Runs Through Sr. and was born on July 14, 1955, in Poplar. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She received her diploma through Frazer High School with the class of 1973. During her junior year in high school, she also participated in the Lamanite placement program and stayed with the Christianson family in Royal City, Wash. She worked for the Frazer School as a janitor when she was a senior through the youth program. She met Sherman Joseph Talks Different Sr. at the Red Bottom Celebration and, five months later, they were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 1973, at her family home in Frazer. She said it was love at first sight. Through this marriage, she gained eight children along with a step-son, as well as many sisters and brothers. She attended college at Montana State University - Northern in Havre and worked as a teacher’s aide at the Frazer Public School for a number of years. She also worked as a CNA at Faith Lutheran Home and Trinity Hospital. They later made their home in Hays. She loved to sew and quilt. She made clothes for her children, doll clothes, patch quilts, star quilts and dance regalia. She was a really good artist and loved to create and make things. She liked puzzle books with cryptograms being her favorite. She loved to play Scrabble and Yahtzee. Her husband taught her to play whist and cribbage. She loved to sing and whistle a tune when she was busy cleaning or washing and hanging up clothes. She is survived by her children,

Melvin Martell, 49, of Wolf Point died May 3, 2026, in Wolf Point. A viewing will be held Monday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will be at King Memorial Cemetery in Wolf Point.
