Roosevelt County has reason to be proud with two high school wrestlers capturing state titles at the girls’ state wrestling meet held in Billings. Wolf Point’s eighth-grader Annaleigh Matejovsky at 120 pounds and Poplar’s senior Angelina Escarcega at 100 pounds earned gold medals during action on Saturday, Feb. 15. Wolves Knock Off Poplar, 56-50


Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball team enjoyed excellent shooting in the first half and fought off Poplar, 56-50, to end the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 15. The three-point shooting of Roper Flaten and Jett Azure led the Wolves to a 22-13 advantage in the first quarter. Sean Hamilton hit a 17-footer and Richard Campbell connected from three-point range to increase the margin to 30-15

Lady Wolves Stop Poplar In Home Game


Clutch three-point and free-throw shooting led Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team to a 68-51 home victory over Poplar to finish the regular season. The Wolves led by a 2924 half-time margin and increased the gap to 40-27 midway into the third quarter as senior Brenna Blount, who hit a school record of eight three-pointers in the contest, fired in three long shots.
