Frazer Squad Includes Five In High School

Frazer’s track team features a small but dedicated group this season.

The Bearcubs’ track program features five high school students, three junior high students and 13 elementary students.

“My goal this year is to build a team,” Coach Alexandra Hinchcliff said.

Leading the Bearcubs is Blue Fettig. The junior runner qualified for the state cross country meet as a sophomore.

Joseph Beston and Shakira Beston are each freshmen.

Joseph will compete in weight events and Shakira will participate in running events. Angel Nelligan, a freshman, will compete in run events.

Ty Fourstar, also a freshman, will contend in races.

The Bearcubs concluded their first week of practice on Friday, March 26. “We’re conditioning right now,” Hinchcliff said.

She said the athletes out for track also participated in basketball this school year. “We’re getting them back into the routine,” Hinchcliff added.

The squad didn’t have a coach until Hinchcliff stepped up for the duty.

“I didn’t want them to not have a track season,” Hinchcliff said.

The Bearcubs will open their season at the Wibaux Invitational in Glendive on Saturday, April 10.
