Tibbett Sentenced For Charge In District Court

Tamara Lynn Tibbett was sentenced during a hearing in district court on Tuesday, March 1.

For the charge of obtaining anything by fraud or illegal gambling devices, Tibbett received a three year suspended sentence and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. She is also to make restitution of $600.

The sentence was part of a plea agreement.

Tibbett noted that she has plenty of family support and is sorry for what she did.

Roosevelt County attorney Frank Piocos said Tibbett was one of three co-defendants in the case. He said he’s glad that the entire case is resolved after almost two years.

Weldon Drew changed his plea to guilty for the charge of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs by accountability.

Drew admitted that between July 31, 2021, and Aug. 7, 2021, he was in communication with another person as he tried to obtain drugs for himself and others.

District Judge David Cybulski ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

Trevor Levi Crain made a plea of not guilty to the charges of assault with a weapon and criminal mischief.

An omnibus hearing was scheduled for April 13 and the trial was set by June 15.

Jamie Burgueno Lerma made not guilty pleas to theft and issuing bad checks.

Maximum penalties are 10 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 for each count.

An omnibus hearing was scheduled for March 29. A trial was set for June 16.
