The Wolf Point Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited honored two individuals and two businesses during its 36th annual banquet held at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center on Saturday, March 19.

Garrett Pronto, chapter president, was pleased with the attendance of about 150 for the banquet.

“I’m very happy with the turnout,” Pronto said.

Other chapter officers include Sharon Karge as vice president, Samar Pronto as secretary and Nancy Hopson as treasurer.

Wolf Point members holding state offices are Steve Harada as executive director and Craig Karge as region 1 director.

Swap Shop and Southside Jetwash was selected as the Sponsor of the Year. Chris Dschaak, representing the two businesses owned by his father Eldon Dschaak, accepted the award. Kris Keller, chapter member, noted, “They have been giving to us for years and years.”

He said the businesses have provided discounts without being asked to by organizers.

Kyle Vine was the recipient of the Angler of the Year award.

It was noted that Vine shares his knowledge of the sport with others. He has fared well in tournaments. His team placed second and he earned third in the Montana Walleye Circuit.

Dalton Pronto was selected for the Wolf Point Walleyes Chapter’s Hall of Fame.

Pronto is always there to help others and has been active with the chapter’s youth program.

Harada mentioned it was the first time there was a family hall of fame award.

Chapter officials expressed appreciation to area supporters for their donations that made the night’s event successful.
