The Poplar Indians gained the upper-hand in the second half to defeat Conrad, 5947, in loser-out action at the Northern B divisional boys’ basketball tournament in Cut Bank on Friday, March 7.

After trailing by a 23-20 half-time margin, the Indians scored 18 points in the third quarter for a 38-38 deadlock.

The Indians then struck for 21 points in the fourth period for the 12-point victory.

Top scorers for Poplar were Kaniel Ricker with 21 and Blake Lambert with 16 points. Also scoring were Dane Moran with eight, Walker Burshia with eight, Keilen Erickson with four and Ryder Olson with two.

Top rebounders were Ricker with 11 and Burshia with 10. Lambert hit four three-pointers in the victory.

Teagan Arnold scored 11 points for Conrad.
