Bigger Sky Kids Going Strong In Wolf Point

Bigger Sky Kids program is experiencing another successful year. The after-school program meets three times a week at First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point.
Program director Barbara Olson said the program attracts between 20-30 students each day on average.
“They have been doing a lot of painting,” Olson said.
A favorite recent activity has been painting and decorating clothespins. The items are given to girls to wear in their hair during volleyball matches or track meets.
Making bracelet has been another fun art project for the fourth through eighth grade students.
Each day, students receive a full snack as they arrive after completing their school day. Macaroni and cheese is a favorite of the students. Other hits include bananas and pickles.
Goals of the program are helping students: explore and express their creativity through visual arts, music, dance, drama and more; experience domestic arts such as cooking, sewing and gardening; and acquire computer literacy and other life skills.
Olson said there’s always a need for adult volunteers.
