Area FFA Students Earn Honors At State Convention


Area students earned high marks during the state FFA convention held in Bozeman last week.
Bainville’s agronomy team featuring Rowan Wilson, Elsie Wilson and Tenley Berwick placed eighth. Individually, R. Wilson took 20th, E. Wilson placed 26th and Berwick was 36th.
The veterinary science team of Hailey Berwick, Tally Berwick and Emmalyn Anderson placed ninth. Individually, H. Berwick was 31st. Tally Berwick took 38th and Anderson was 50th. The parliamentary procedure team also placed in the top eight.
R. Wilson earned 10th place in ag mechanics. Lila Butikofer placed 19th in floriculture.
Bainville received a silver Star Chapter Award for being in the top 10. Tally Berwick and E. Wilson earned state degrees and won scholarships.
Dawson Bergum, Henry Colvin, Jazzmin Fugere and Mark Kirkaldie earned state degrees for Culbertson. Culbertson’s Ivy Colvin placed 22nd in farm and agribusiness management and 26th in floriculture.
Henry Colvin took 36th in farm and agribusiness management. Jazzmin Fugere placed 27th in floriculture. Culbertson took 24th as a team in farm and agribusiness management.
Kaden Featherston took 71st in livestock evaluation. Placing in the top 50 percent were Bridger Salvevold in agronomy, Cal Steppler in mechanics and I.. Colvin in vet science. H. Colvin and Kirkaldie placed in ag sales.
Felixe Becker earned third for prepared public speaking in the preliminary room. In the agriscience fair, Becker earned a gold award, second place in the plant science category and ninth overall. He also received his Big Muddy Star Greenhand award.
Froid placed 13th and Culbertson was 14th in floriculture.
Froid’s Addison Elvsaas was 24th and Bella Trapp was 37th individually in floriculture.
Lilly Johnson took 71st in florticulture and Medicine Lake’s Avery Johnson placed 74th.
