Connie Jean Sutherland


Connie Jean Sutherland, 65, of Poplar died March 10, 2025.
She was born Dec. 10, 1959, in Fort Belknap, the eldest daughter to her father, Richard Sutherland Sr., and mother, Louise (Buckles) Ell.
Growing up, she went to various schools throughout Montana including Poplar, Rocky Boy and Columbia Falls.
Throughout her life, she had numerous occupations, including working the H & S Smoke Shack and TJ’s Quick Stop and Casino. Her favorite was taking beading orders. She loved to bead for family and friends. She loved to watch her family dance at the local powwow celebrations., She met Brian and they married Oct. 11, 2012. She had four children who helped fulfill her life. They gave her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and could joke around with just about anyone in the room. She turned coworkers into family.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Jones; sons, Charles Plante Jr., Travis Pribbernow and Charles Pribbernow Jr.; siblings, Cheryl Sutherland, Harold “Mr. Dean” Sutherland and Sandra Sutherland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Chelsea Pribbernow; and brother, Richard Sutherland Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 13, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Burial was at the Box Elder Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel assisted with the arrangements.
