Indians Score At Sidney Meet

The Poplar Indians struck for 10 points in the girls’ division and six points in the boys’ division during the chilly Sidney Invitational held on Friday, April 18.

Walker Burshia led Poplar’s boys with a third-place showing in the shot put at 43-3.

Keilen Erickson was ninth in the javelin at 122-5.

Registering personal bests for Poplar’s boys were Jaycee Feuerherm in the triple jump and long jump and Erickson in the discus, Poplar’s girls finished first in the SMR 1600-meter relay with a time of 5:17.74. The race consisted of two 200s, one 400 and one 800. Running the relay were Madison Knowlton, Journey Gourneau, Amelia Weeks and Alara Cooper.

Having personal bests for Poplar’s girls were Dezzi Scott in the 400, Kadence Lavato in the shot put and Emma Belton in the shot put and discus.
