Optimist Activities Planned This Weekend

The Optimist Club of Wolf Point is moving forward with plans to host a Mile of Pennies event on Sunday, June 7, and a community yard sale Saturday, June 6.

Mile of Pennies is an attempt to make a mile of pennies leading up Sixth Avenue North. The first coins along the route will start being placed at 2 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to the group’s childhood health and wellness fund.

Organizers estimate that it should take 84,480 coins to stretch all the way to a mile. For questions, contact Gloria Sande at 650-0107 or Helen Welte at 653-1653.

The Optimists are also hosting their fourth annual community yard sale June 6-9. The sale will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Highland Drive. For more information, call 653-1064 or 653-3252.
