Positive Tests Rise Statewide

According to Montana health officials, 69 new cases of COVID-19 were reported over the past weekend. One additional death was also reported. As of Tuesday, June 23, there were 734 cases confirmed around the state, with 550 listed as recovered. Twenty-one people have succumbed to the infection.
In Valley County, the health department and Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital confirm one positive case of COVID-19 of a Valley County resident June 18. The infected individual is a male in his 60s who is not currently in Valley County. He will remain in isolation in the county in which he was infected for the duration of his illness. The health department is following up directly with all individuals who have had close contact with the case and are at risk of infection. All close contacts will be notified and tested for COVID-19.
According to Governor Steve Bullock’s office, all tests conducted June 3-4 on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation have come back negative. The surveillance testing was performed in partnership between the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, Northeast Montana Health Services and the Montana National Guard, with testing supplies provided by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
