Strommen Trial Underway In Glasgow
A trial for former Valley County Undersheriff Luke Strommen Monday, July 13, in Glasgow. He faces a felony charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
A total of 44 jurors were called to the Valley County Courthouse for jury selection Monday.
Strommen pleaded not guilty to the charge in January 2019. The trial was slated for March of this year, but was canceled and rescheduled due to COVID-19.
Strommen is accused of having sexual relations with a girl who was 14 at the time. Court documents state the relationship continued for 17 months and allege the relationship started in September 2009 and lasted through January 2011. If Strommen is found guilty, he could be imprisoned for a term of not less than four years or more than 100 years.
