Press Release from the Fort Peck Tribes/Roosevelt County/IHS Covid-19 Task Force

Roosevelt County Health Department is reporting a total of 8 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Roosevelt County since the beginning of the pandemic. Eight cases have recovered. There are no current active cases. We have one presumptive positive case that requires confirmation.

The Roosevelt County Health Department realized quickly that there were discrepancies between the state reporting of our county’s covid-19 cases. They were quickly in touch with the state to reconcile the information provided to County health versus what was reported by the state. Together they worked through the misreporting yesterday. As the state’s reporting is only updated once daily, it took until approximately 9:45am July 22nd for the accurate information to be displayed in the state maps.

We encourage you to follow the Roosevelt County Health Department’s daily updates available on Facebook. They will give you the true numbers and attempt to explain discrepancies as they are noticed and worked through with the state agencies. We thank all the residents and businesses that contacted the Health Department to question if the mask mandates were in effect for Roosevelt County.

If at any time the case count in Roosevelt County goes to 4+ active cases, the Health Department and Task Force members will work to contact area businesses to inform them that the mask mandate is now in effect for our county.
