WPCO, 100 Club Team Up To Fund Pharmacy Needs
The Wolf Point Community Organization recently gave a $6,700 donation to the Wolf Point 100 Club, which the 100 Club used to purchase an automated pill counter requested by the pharmacy in Wolf Point that was almost $6,700 on the nose.
WPCO’s Larry Wetsit contacted 100 Club members about a pending donation, which enabled the club to fund a pill counter recently purchased for the pharmacy. Club and WPCO board members and pharmacy staff posed for a photo across from the pharmacy Monday, July 27, to mark the occasion.
“Wetsit initially contacted Mertz Hoversland in early March just prior to the COVID-19 shutdown regarding that organization’s desire to make a donation to the Wolf Point 100 Club,” said club member Cindy Hanks. “Just prior to that, the 100 Club had approved the purchase of a pill counter for the Wolf Point Pharmacy. Amazingly, the value of the WPCO’s gift was very close to the equipment cost, so many of us felt a sense of affirmation regarding our recent approval of the pharmacy’s request.”
Mertz served as liaison with pharmacist Rosanne Erickson and her staff to encourage them to submit equipment needs. According to Hanks, the pharmacy had never asked for anything. “I really appreciate Mertz’s initiative and persistence in drawing the pharmacy into the fold,” said Hanks, “as the pharmacy is a vital part of Wolf Point’s healthcare community.”
