Freight Train Collides With Semi East Of Brockton, One Fatality Confirmed

Roosevelt County emergency services coordinator Lindsay McNabb told the Northern Plains Independent

that a freight train collided with a semi tractor trailer on the BNSF mainline near mile marker 629 on U.S. Highway 2, three miles east of Brockton, on Tuesday, July 28.

The semi was hauling gravel at the time of the accident.

Responding agencies included the Poplar Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol and Fort Peck Tribes criminal investigators.

At press time, one fatality had been confirmed.
