The Roosevelt County 4-H and FFA auction will be held Aug. 14, starting at 6 p.m. In order to facilitate the sale and maintain both buyer and seller safety, we are modifying the sale to promote social distancing.
The following measures are being taken:
•Buyer registration will be required to streamline sale day. A registration form can be obtained at First Community Bank in Culbertson or you can register at tinyurl. com/rcf2020buyer. Pre-registration closes on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
•If you are unable to attend the sale, a proxy buyer may attend in your place. Indicate on your registration who will be attending on your behalf.
•We are asking only those that intend to purchase an animal attend the sale to help maintain safety for both buyers and sellers.
•We will be broadcasting the sale on Facebook Live on the MSU Extension Roosevelt County Facebook page for those who would like to watch the youth show off their projects, but do not wish to purchase an animal.
•As an additional precaution, we will not be taking pictures with buyers on sale day, but presenting a photo of the youth with their animal to buyers at a later date.
•If you would like to avoid crowds to maintain social distancing, the bank will invoice you after the sale.
•We will have a table set up prior to the auction for those who want to register on the day of the auction.
Also, due to increased bookings at the processor, we currently do not have guaranteed processing space available. We are continuing to work with the processors to have the animals processed at the earliest convenient date. If you have already secured processing space for any animal you purchase or if you arrange processing on your own, let us know prior to the auction or on sale day.
Also, if you will not be paying in person on the night of the auction, let us know prior to the auction where you would prefer the animal to be processed.
