Fatality Confirmed In Train Brockton Train Accident

Ashton Stovern, 24, of Sidney, has been confirmed as the fatality in a July 28 accident on the BNSF mainline near Brockton.

The train collided with a semi-truck in the morning hours, killing Stovern, who was driving. The semi was hauling gravel at the time of the accident.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a Freightliner truck was driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 near Brockton prior to the crash. At a crossing near BIA Route 1, a train struck the vehicle on the driver’s side, killing the driver. There were no other reported injuries.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
