Frontier School Announces Reopening Procedures
The Frontier School has announced the procedures that will be in place when school reopens Aug. 20.
School Entry
The board decided that temperatures will be taken, using non-touch thermometers, by HPDP nurses, bus drivers, with the possibility of staff and parent volunteers assisting as needed. Temperatures will be taken prior to boarding the bus or entering the building. Children and staff with a temperature of 100 degrees or above will not be allowed entry to bus or facilities. There will be a staggered approach to entry of facilities.
Face shields/masks will be provided and required at entry to school.
If a child has symptoms during the day, they will be isolated with an adult in the shop classroom until parents or guardians can pick them up.
Playgrounds
Recess students will be divided into groups and assigned flagged areas of play. The groups will consist of students from the same classroom. Flagged areas are used to distance groups from each other. PPE is required on the playground as is 6-foot distancing between groups.
