Thomas Alfred Scott Jr., 58, of Fort Kipp died Aug. 10, 2020.

He was born May 2, 1962, in Poplar to Thomas Alfred Scott Sr. and Sybil Jones. He was raised by his grandparents, Arthur and Martha Scott in Fort Kipp.

He attended school in Brockton, where he developed a passion for sports, especially basketball.

His trades began at a very young age, working on the family farm. During this time, he mastered mechanics. He then ventured off to the oil field in demolitions for a few years.

He later returned home to help on the farm and work for his grandfather, building houses. This is where he mastered carpentry. He eventually branched out on his own drywalling business.

He loved spending time out in the country digging root with his sister, Claudia. He enjoyed coaching his nephews’ basketball team and created a bond with them, forever calling them his boys.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Canyon; sons, Harland Ross and Andy Ross; and daughters, Lee Ann Ross and Maria Wind; sister, Claudia Scott.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carlus Scott and Tyrone Jones; and his sister, Debbie Scott.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 17, at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp. Interment was at the Scott Family Cemetery in Fort Kipp. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
