Four Injured In Two-Car Crash
Four people were seriously injured in a two car crash in Wolf Point Tuesday, Aug. 25. The Wolf Point Police Department was called at approximately 10:30 p.m. and the Montana Highway Patrol responded.
MHP Trooper T’Elle Evans told the Northern Plains Independent that the crash occurred at the intersection of Third Avenue S. and Dawson Street in Wolf Point. According to Evans, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound on Dawson Street with five occupants failed to yield to a 2008 Ford Explorer with three occupants traveling southbound on Third Avenue South, resulting in an angle crash.
The driver of the Elantra allegedly exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot. The remaining four passengers experienced serious injuries and were taken to Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point. One passenger was flown out for additional medical attention.
The three occupants of the Explorer had minor injuries.
According to Evans, alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. Charges are pending.
Responding agencies included Wolf Point Police, Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice, the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and local EMS.
