Tumonong Brother Joins Wolf Point Schools
Ronnell Tumonong traveled from the city of Bacolod in the Philippines by way of Colorado to take over as the new science teacher at Northside School. His brother, Andrew Tumonong, joined the staff as a teacher last year.
Tumonong taught most recently in Anton, Colo. In Bacolod, he taught grades 4-6 for five years before becoming a school principal (K-6) for another five years. He said he moved to the area so that his son, Jairo Keven Tumonong, would be able to live near family.
Tumonong said his hobbies include painting, baseball and basketball. He told the Northern Plains Independent that basketball, in particular, is very popular in the Philippines, where there is a professional league called the PBA.
