Bainville Puts Up Strong Fight in Wibaux

The Bainville Bulldogs put up a good battle before losing in Wibaux by a 42-14 final on Saturday afternoon.

The game was scoreless after the first quarter of action.

“Overall, I was happy with the way the boys played,” Bainville coach Trustin Holcomb said. “It was the best they’ve played all year even though the score doesn’t show that. We’re continuing to improve every week, and that’s all I can ask for.”

The Longhorns led 20-0 at half-time and by a 27-8 score at the end of the third quarter.

Bainville scored in the third quarter on a 40-yard pass play from Braeden Romo to Jesse Strickland. The conversion was kicked by Strickland.

The Bulldogs’ touchdown in the fourth quarter was scored by Romo on a 15-yard run.

Bainville will host Jordan at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2.
