Area Libraries Adjust For Pandemic

Main Branch Offers Curbside Service Only

The Roosevelt County Library main branch is offering curbside pickup for library materials beginning Sept. 28. The Wolf Point location has been closed in recent weeks due to staff exposure to COVID-19.

Library director Janet Livingston told the Northern Plains Independent that the main branch has been closed since Sept. 14. She added that the catalogue can be searched remotely.

“We will not be operating on Tuesday and Thursday evenings,” said Livingston, “but we will be operating Saturdays.” The librarians can be reached at 653-2411. You can email your book requests to ask@rooseveltcountylibrary. org. Librarians are asking that patrons identify themselves, share their book titles and/or DVD titles, schedule a pickup time, call to let the librarians know you’ve arrived and present your library card for checkout.

The online catalogue can be perused at mtsc.ent.sirsi.net/client/ en_US/RCL-MAIN.

In Poplar, the James E Shanley Tribal Library has been closed to the public since Sept. 21. Librarians are answering phones remotely to assist patrons. At press time, the library expects to be closed at least through Oct. 5. Call 768-6340 for more information.

The Culbertson Public Library is moving forward with plans for story time beginning Oct. 6. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join in. At press time, librarian Leona Colvin said the branch is limiting use of public bathrooms and limiting visitors to 10 people or fewer. Check the library’s Facebook page for updates.
