Language Teacher Azure Credits Turcotte With Inspiration
Wolf Point’s Jeromy Azure Jr. said he’s been studying Native languages since elementary school.
“I remember studying languages during the summer in fourth grade,” said Azure. He credits local teacher Michael Turcotte with helping inspire him to continue his studies and give teaching a try.
Azure received his associate degree from Fort Peck Community College. He is teaching Native languages at Wolf Point Junior High this year.
Azure said his hobbies include basketball, video games and hanging out with family.
He said his biggest surprise during a year affected by the pandemic was how eager and ready to learn his students were coming into class.
“They came prepared to learn after a long break,” said Azure.
