Wolf Point Boys Capture Top Honors at Culbertson Meet
Wolf Point’s boys emerged as the winning team at the Culbertson Invitational cross-country meet Saturday morning, Sept. 26.
Zander Ackerman, a senior, led the Wolves with time of 17:14.30 for second place despite extremely windy conditions. Samuel Smith of Richey/Lambert finished first at 16:53.80.
“It was a pretty good performance, especially with all the wind,” Ackerman said of his race. “I ran close to my [personal record]. I’m pretty proud of myself.”
Wolf Point took first with 57 points. Glasgow placed second with 60 points. Miles City was third with 74 points.
Another highlight for the Wolves was the return of action for Kholby Spotted Wolf. The sophomore has been battling injuries and this was his first meet of the season.
He finished 26th at 20:44.15.
“I’m very proud of him,” Ackerman said.
Spotted Wolf ran hard but was confused where the actual finish line was located. “I did OK. I’m fine with it, except for the finish. I didn’t know where I was going,” he said.
