Obituaries Junia Walking Eagle-Jones
Junia Faye Walking Eagle-Jones, 57, of Wolf Point died Sept. 28, 2020.
She was born Nov. 26, 1962, to Donald Walking Eagle Sr and Ida Ricker-Walking Eagle. She attended Poplar Schools and went on to work at Poplar IHS for many years.
She met and married Royce John Spotted Bird Sr. of Brockton. Throughout their marriage, she became a mother to six children. She then divorced and went on to live her life, meeting her lifelong companion, Wayne Douglas Jones of Wolf Point.
She enjoyed visiting with family, spending lots of time with her grandchildren, fishing with her husband, watching movies and relaxing over a hot cup of tea.
She is preceded in death by sisters, Irene Walking Eagle and Kathleen Ricker; daughter, Jonna Lynn Spotted Bird; and four grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Jones of Wolf Point; sons, Royce John Spotted Bird Jr. of Poplar and Dwain Spotted Bird of Wolf Point; daughters, Janis Spotted Bird, Jackie Spotted Bird and Catherine-Ida Spotted Bird, all of Poplar; two special daughters, Brittany Whiteman of Japan and Misty Dawn Strikes Many; sisters, Patsy TwoBulls and Debbi Walking Eagle, both of Poplar; brothers, Donald Walking Eagle, Alfred Walking Eagle and George Walking Eagle Sr.; 15 grandchildren; and one greatgrandson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Jones residence located east of Wolf Point on Hwy 2. Interment was at Poplar City Cemetery.
