Senior Kegley Shines Both In Sports And Academics
Demi Kegley is one of the students at Wolf Point High School who excels in both the classroom as well as in activities.
She maintains a 3.8 grade point average that ranks her third in her class. Her favorite subject is science especially chemistry.
Her plans are to attend Montana State University -Billings and study radiology.
“I like that field,” she noted. “My family is in the nursing field.”
Her favorite teacher is Teresa Romo for physics.
“I like the people here, my family and the students,” Kegley said. “I enjoy sports and hanging out with my family. And I like traveling.”
Currently, she’s a solid member of the Wolf Point Wolves’ volleyball squad. She has been a varsity player for three years.
“I’m hoping we can get to divisionals and do well there,” she said. “I think we have a lot of talent all the way around.”
The senior added that one of her highlights was beating Shelby in one set at the divisional tournament.
This volleyball season has been a challenge because of shutdowns.
“We just need to get things consistent for us to keep going,” she said.
The National Honor Society member participates in tennis during the spring. She barely missed qualifying for state in 2019. There wasn’t a season last spring.
“I really want to go to state this year,” Kegley said.
She explains that playing tennis is still somewhat different for her. “I just wanted to try something new,” she said. “I didn’t want to just sit around and not do anything during the spring.”
