Runners Place At Fort Peck


The Culbertson/Bainville cross-country squad finished its regular season with a solid showing at the Nemont Invitiational held at Fort Peck on Thursday, Oct. 15. The state meet is scheduled for this weekend in Kalispell.
Samuel Smith of Richey/ Lambert was the overall winner in the boys’ division with a time of 15:45.
Leading Culbertson/Bainville were senior Colby Olson with a time of 20:00 for 22nd place and junior Wyatt Snyder with a time of 20:30 for 24th place. It was each runner’s best time of the season.
“It felt good,” Olson said after the race.
Snyder added, “The cold weather actually was a help.”
Sophomore Maurice Bighorn finished in 27th place at 24:30. Junior Isaiah Bighorn earned 30th at 25:03.
Glasgow’s Iris McKean earned top honors in the girls’ division with a time of 19:32. Plentywood’s Annie Kaul was second at 19:36. MonDak’s Elizabeth Field took third at 20:28.
Kayli Olson of Culbertson/ Bainville finished seventh at 22:47.
Autumn Bergum, a junior, finished 12th at 23:44.
Abbey Granbois, a senior, earned 20th at 25:39.
