Chamber Encourages Shopping Locally
As Black Friday and Small Business Saturday nears, residents are urged to shop at local businesses for their holiday gift purchases.
“It’s imperative that we support our local businesses,” Jeff Presser, president of the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, said. “If we don’t, they’re in real danger of going away.”
Especially this year when businesses are struggling with COVID restrictions, residents need to remember the importance of shopping local.
“Online retailers do not support local clubs, groups or organizations,” Presser said. “Your local retailers do. We need to support our local businesses. Amazon doesn’t send money here to support local youth activities. So, why would you support them?”
To make shopping local even easier, there are Wolf Point Shopping Dollars available. These special dollars are welcomed at most area businesses.
“They’re accepted the same as cash,” Presser said.
He explained Wolf Point Shopping Dollars are great for businesses to give out as Christmas bonuses. You can also give them out as gifts to family, friends or teachers. The Shopping Dollars are available from Presser at High Plains Motors.
“It kind of makes sure the money stays at home,” Presser said.
He notes there are many great shopping options in the community.
“Check out local and see what these businesses offer,” Presser said. “You can get everything here, and if not, they will order items for you.”
