Tribal Program Delivers Thanksgiving Meals For Elderly

The Fort Peck Tribes Elderly Program made sure that many area families will have a great Thanksgiving by providing full meals on Friday, Nov. 20.

More than 60 ready-to-be-prepared meals were expected to be distributed to elders, 60 years of older, through the process, Fort Peck Sergeant of Arms Cubby Damon said.

Damon said the distribution has been going on for many years. It’s usually held at the Silver Wolf Casino, but this year the locations included tribal elderly sites in Wolf Point, Brockton, Poplar senior site and Frazer senior site.

Items given included turkeys, corn, stuffing and potatoes. In addition, elders received masks and COVID information.
