Eastern C Football Players Selected
Culbertson’s Aiden Perkins was one of the players selected to the Eastern C All-Conference eight-man football team by league coaches.
Perkins, a junior, was voted to the second team as a defensive lineman. Scobey and Fairview each placed four players on the first team offense. Scobey lost in the state championship game this season.
Selected first team offense from Scobey were quarterback Jayce Tande, running back Payton Leibrand, guard Josh Hammerly and end Parker Cromwell. Named from Fairview were running back Brady Buxbaum, center Steve Rice, guard Easton Hopes and end Hunter Sharbono.
Also voted first team offense were Ekalaka’s quarterback Turner Tooke, MonDak’s junior Erik Field, Circle’s Hayden Lockie and Mon-Dak’s senior Adian Harbin.
Players selected second team offense included Fairview’s quarterback Kanyon Taylor, MonDak’s quarterback Darian Holecek, Circle’s running back Cole Becker, Broadus’ running back Kyle Minow, Circle’s running back Tugg Taylor, Ekalaka’s senior Jerod Pardee, Scobey’s center Philip Haynes, Circle’s guard Jaden Haynie, Ekalaka’s junior Brennan Bonsell, Scobey’s end Caden Handran, Ekalaka’s Ryan Rychner and Plentywood’s Caydon Trupe.
The first team defense featured six players from Fairview and three from Scobey. Voted to the team from Fairview were Buxbaum at linebacker, Hopes at linebacker, Sharbono at lineman, Rice at lineman, Taylor at back and Garrett George at defensive back. Selected from Scobey were Payton Leibrand at linebacker, Josh Hammerly at lineman and Parker Cromwell at defensive back.
Also voted first team defense were MonDak’s linebacker Keegan Nelson, Plentywood’s linebacker Kieran Hernandez and Ekalaka’s defensive back Turner Tooke.
The second team included Culbertson’s lineman Perkins, Circle’s lineman Caleb Gackle, Circle’s lineman Jaden Haynie, Broadus’ lineman Dakota Holbrock, Circle’s linebacker Cole Becker, Circle’s linebacker Jaron Taylor, Ekalaka’s linebacker Seth Kennedy, Scobey’s linebacker Colter Oie, Broadus’ linebacker Minow, MonDak’s Erik Field, Circle’s defensive back Hayden Lockie and Scobey’s defensive back Caden Handran. All-State selections from the Eastern C were Fairview’s Buxbaum, Fairview’s Hopes, Fairview’s Sharbono, Scobey’s Hammerly, Fairview’s Rice, Scobey’s Cromwell, Scobey’s Leibrand, Ekalaka’s Tooke, Fairview’s K. Taylor, Mon-Dak’s Field, Circle’s Lockie, Scobey’s Tande, MonDak’s Owen Nelson, MonDak’s Harbin and Plentywood’s Hernandez.
Seniors picked for the Cleverly All-Star Game were Fairview’s Buxbaum, Fairview’s Hopes, Fairview’s Rice, Scobey’s Cromwell, Scobey’s Leibrand, Mon-Dak’s Field, Circle’s Lockie, Scobey’s Tande, MonDak’s Nelson, MonDak’s Hardin, Plentywood’s Hernandez, Fairview’s George and Ekalaka’s Pardee. Alternates are Scobey’s Caden Handran, Fairview’s Paul Hardy, Circle’s Gackle, MonDak’s Holecek, Circle’s Haynie, Ekalaka’s Ryan Rychner, Circle’s Cole Becker, Broadus’ Minow and Forsyth’s Joe Lackman.
