Work, Sports And Arts Make Houg Well-Rounded
Wolf Point High School senior Jodi Houg keeps active throughout the day whether it’s in sports, painting or working at the nursery home.
She says she likes helping with activities at the nursing home. Bingo is played once a week and she says there’s a Bingo store there.
“I take the residents where they need to go,” Houg said.
She explains there are some drawbacks of working at the facility there.
“You get attached to the residents and when they pass away, it’s hard,” she said.
At the high school, Houg is involved in volleyball and basketball. Her favorite sport is basketball.
“It’s more upbeat. You need to work as a team if you want to succeed,” Houg said.
She likes the excitement of volleyball when someone hits a hard spike or makes an outstanding save. Hobbies include painting and spending time with her family. She especially likes painting animals.
Her favorite class at Wolf Point has been anatomy and physiology. Her favorite teacher is Teresa Romo.
“I like the labs and how we get to see first hand the objects of the body,” Houg said.
Cody Larson is another favorite teacher. “He’s always in a good mood and cracking jokes. He makes sure everybody is taken care of,” Houg said.
She’s unsure of which college she will attend. Majors might be engineering or nursing.
Houg likes living in the Wolf Point community and going to school at Wolf Point High School.
“I like how close the community is and how everybody is always willing to help,” Houg said.
