Colt Miller of the Froid/ Lake Red Hawks has been selected as an alternate for the Montana East-West Shrine Football Game.

The senior was voted as an alternate at tight end.

Miller earned All-State honors as the Red Hawks captured the Class C six-man state championship this year.

Savage’s Sloan McPherson was voted to the East team as a tight end. He was an All-State pick this season.

McPherson has signed to play football at the University of Montana.

The Montana East-West Shrine Game is one of the oldest high school all-star football games in the country. The game is a fundraiser for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Spokane, Wash. The game has raised nearly $1 million during the last 10 years.

The contest is scheduled for June 19, 2021, in Billings. The East leads the series by a 41-32 margin. Players selected for the canceled 2020 game are scheduled to be recognized at this game.

Class B players selected to the East squad included Fairfield’s Kolter Bouma at center, Red Lodge’s Jay Jetmore at running back, Red Lodge’s Corby Mann at offensive tackle, Fairfield’s Gavin Mills at wide receiver, Malta’s Pierce Mortenson at guard, Fairfield’s Conor Murray at safety, Glasgow’s Mayson Phipps at defensive lineman and Red Lodge’s Elijah Reynolds at tight end.

Alternates from Class B for East were Colstrip’s Rylin Burns at linebacker, Huntley Project’s Hunter Dare at linebacker, Glasgow’s Dylan Nieskens at linebacker and Malta’s Beau Simonson at defensive end. Another Class C player named to the East team was Belt’s Kaimen Evans at safety, Other Class C players selected as alternates for the East squad included Shields Valley’s Aiden Jenkins at safety, Park City’s Tucker Johnstone at linebacker, Park City’s Ben Kessler at guard, Great Falls Central’s Preston Nitschke-Love at defensive end, Big Sandy’s Kade Strutz at running back and Park City’s Garrett Zimdars at cornerback.
