Poplar Ice Fishing Contest Set For Feb. 6

The 13th Poplar Ice Fishing Contest is set for Saturday, Feb. 6, The event will take place at Dego Bend south of Poplar beginning at 10 a.m. The event will last approximately five hours. Doug Marottek told the Northern Plains Indepenent, “My wife and I started this to promote outdoor family fun, it is a good community event for all ages.”

All holes will be pre-drilled, Entry costs are one hole for $10 or three for $25, There will be cash prizes for top three fish (any species), based on number of entries. In the event of a tie, the first fish caught will be the winner. Tribal fishing licenes will not be required. No vehicles will be allowed on the ice.
