Pound Puppies Treats 95 Dogs, 37 Cats
Group Signs Year Lease In Wolf Point
Wolf Point Pound Puppies Tina Betshismedicine told the Northern Plains Independent that the group concluded another two-day spay/ neuter clininc in Wolf Point Jan. 17.
Said Betshismedicine, “It was wild. We did three days and ended up with 95 cats and 37 dogs spayed or neutered.”
Dr. Heather Grimm conducted the clinic, assisted by techs Jamie Hitchcock, Marvin Matlock and Janice Greibel. Volunteers included Betshismedicine, Karel Schutt, Claire Kinsey, Carol Hackley, Brandi Wilkinson, Krissy Parker, LeEtta Waldhausen, Ryan Renz Speed and Adison Renz Speed.
According to Betshismedicine, Pound Puppies conducted the clinic in a new space in the old Top Notch Video building, located at 420 Cascade St. in Wolf Point. The group recently signed a year lease. Betshismedicine said the group will be using the space for storage and clinics. They will not be keeping business hours at this point.
“We all have regular jobs so no one could be ‘open’ during the day,” she said. “We might do a few vaccination clinics and dog/cat food giveaways.”
Pound Puppies is seeking donations and sponsors to keep costs down for local residents.
“Some people can’t afford the fee, so we ask for people to sponsor an animal spay or neuter or just donate so we can offset some of the costs,” said Betshismedicine. “If we don’t find sponsors, it comes out of our funds. We don’t turn any local people away due to inability to pay.”
