Brockton’s Bauer Works To Put Warriors Back On Winning Track
High school senior Treydyn Bauer has understood the great tradition of Brockton’s basketball for the great majority of his life. He started playing the sport on the playground when he was only 3 or 4 years old and received instruction from both his father and grandfather. Part of the information was hearing about Brockton’s 2004 state championship team that included his father, Tyson Bauer, and his uncle, Jayce Lambert. Another uncle, Brent Nygaard, was the team’s coach.
“They taught me the basics of basketball, the fundamentals and things like that,” Bauer said.
Now a senior for the Warriors, Bauer is hoping to help bring the winning ways back to Brockton. The last three seasons have been a struggle, but Brockton defeated Nashua and took Savage into overtime this campaign.
“It’s been kind of tough, but 2C is one of the best conferences in Montana,” Bauer said. “This year, we’ve been doing way better.”
He noted his teammates have displayed good dedication with the goal of improving Brockton’s program.
“All nine guys were here every day this summer,” Bauer said. “We’ve good chemistry to get where we’re at now.”
Bauer has been counted on to be a consistent scorer for the Warriors. He averaged about 18 points per game last season.
“I’ve been kind of the go-to guy to get points,” Bauer said.
The team’s goals include having success during the post season.
“Brockton hasn’t been to divisionals for quite some time,” Bauer said. “But my number one goal is to make Brockton’s community proud.”
He hopes Brockton’s residents cheer him and his teammates on as they continue to improve.
“They live and bred basketball in Brockton, and we’re trying to do this for them,” Bauer said.
