Man Arrested For Drug Possession Near Bainville

Josh Jason Dennis has been arrested and charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

His initial court date is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 10. Bond has been set at $25,000.

According to court reports, deputies conducted business checks at the Stateline and Colby’s casinos located east of Bainville on Jan. 28.

When a deputy illuminated a vehicle’s interior with a flashlight, he observed in plain-view a blue straw with a white powdery substance. The vehicle had North Dakota license plates and was parked in the lot of the Stateline Casino.

The deputy went inside to find the driver and possible passengers, he talked with Dennis and a female vehicle owner. After the deputy asked, the vehicle owner gave permission to search the vehicle.

Dennis said the straws were his and that he had “a little over 2 grams” of cocaine.

Items found include three pieces of blue straws, two loose razer blades, six more razer blades and a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance.

Field tests of suspected cocaine in the plastic baggie was presumptive positive.
