Hamilton Enjoys Close Relationships In Programs
Wolf Point High School senior Katriel Hamilton appreciates the relationships created when being part of an extra-curricular team.
She has been a member of the school’s volleyball program for the past four years.
“I like how everybody comes together and works as a team,” Hamilton said. “It’s really more of a family than a team.”
Currently, she is in her fourth year as a Wolf Point High School cheerleader.
“We’re kind of like a family too,” she said of the cheerleaders. “We’re all like sisters.”
She’s thankful that the cheerleading squad features 12 girls this year. In the past, she said there would be about 6-8 girls involved.
“We can do a lot more stunting,” she noted.
Other activities for her include National Honor Society, Wolf People and the NDO youth council.
Hamilton enjoys the community work done by National Honor Society.
Wolf People is currently active with its coffee cart fundraiser during home basketball games. Items available include ice cream, doughnuts, coffee and tea. Funds raised help students attend a conference to spread awareness.
“I like our community how we all come together during tough times,” Hamilton said.
After school, Hamilton works as a CNA as the hospital. “I like helping people get better,” she said.
Her plans are to attend MSU Billings and earn a degree in a health care field.
Her favorite class is government taught by Ryan Wilson. “He teaches in a way where I remember everything,” Hamilton said.
She picks Leslie Larson as her favorite teacher.
“She’s very friendly and likes to know about you,” Hamilton said. “If you have a bad day, she’s the one you can talk to.”
