Laurie and Lee Averil, owners of Culbertson’s Fraken Java, have returned to supplying area residents with food and drinks on the go in Culbertson.

The couple spends the coldest winter months in Las Vegas, Nev. They shuttered the popular drive-through at the end of December.

“We’re really glad to be back,” Laurie Averil told the Community News. “Las Vegas was only 25 percent open.”

Averil said along with too many people, their winter retreat also offered very little to do during the ongoing pandemic.

The Averils officially reopened Saturday, Feb. 20. New drink and food items are on the menu but all the old favorites, including breakfast burritos and sandwiches, remain available. Fraken Java is located at 521 3rd Avenue West in Culbertson, one block east of the Wild West Diner on U.S. Highway 2. Check the group’s Facebook page for more information.
