Bainville Girls Win Junior High Championship
Bainville’s girls earned first place in the seventh/eighth grade division during the junior high and elementary district track meets held in Fairview on Friday, May 14.
The Bulldogs scored 93 points while Richey/Lambert took second with 81 points and Plentywood placed third with 77 points.
Other district championship teams included Plentywood for seventh/eighth grade boys, Savage for fifth/sixth grade girls and Circle/Redwater for fifth/sixth grade boys.
Elsie Wilson led Bainville’s seventh/eighth grade girls with first-place honors in the 100, 200 and high jump. She placed second in the 100-meter hurdles. She set meet records in the 200 (27.64) and high jump (4-11).
Hailey Berwick took first in the 400, third in the 200, sixth in the high jump and fifth in the 100. The relay team of Miah Pippenger, Lila Butikofer, Wilson and Berwick finished in first place.
Pippenger earned top honors in the shot put. Addy Hansen took fourth and Butikofer was fifth in the shot put. Butikofer placed second and Hansen took fifth in the discus.
For Bainville’s fifth/sixth grade girls, Jodi Albus placed sixth in the 50. The relay team of Johnna Ryder, Makayla Reigler, Azure Mahoney and Albus finished fourth. Mahoney took sixth in the high jump.
Rowan Wilson placed fourth in the 800 for Bainville’s seventh/eighth grade boys. Kaiden Holmes took sixth in the 1600.
For Bainville’s fifth/sixth grade boys, Austin Shepherd placed fourth in the 800. Parker Berwick finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and placed fifth in the high jump.
Culbertson’s Bridger Salvevold earned first place in the 100 and 400 for seventh/eighth grade boys. Reese Moon finished first in the 200 and placed fourth in the long jump. The 400-meter relay team of Trevor Miller, Moon, Ian Snyder and Salvevold finished first.
For Culbertson’s fifth/sixth grade boys, Plenny Williams placed second in the discus, third in the 50 and fourth in the 100. Charles Firemoon placed third in the 400. Gage Damm took fifth in the 800. Glenn Sager took sixth in the shot put.
Jade Lone Bear finished sixth in the 800 and sixth in the 1600 for Culbertson’s seventh/ eighth grade girls.
Trinity Pirkle finished second in the 800 for Culbertson’s fifth/sixth grade girls. Peyton Labatte took fifth in the shot put.
Joseph Robertson earned second in the 400, second in the 800 and fifth in the 200 to lead Froid/Lake in the seventh/ eighth grade division. The 400-meter relay team featuring Roberto Orozco, Trent Williams, Jacob Martensen and Robertson finished in fifth. Eduardo Orozco took fourth in the 200 and sixth in the 100 for Froid/Lake’s boys in the fifth/sixth grade division. Rylan Young finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles.
In the seventh/eighth grade girls division, Mara Salvevold took fourth in the high jump, placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and finished sixth in the 100 and 200. Vala Gregor took fifth in the 800.
In the fifth/sixth grade division, Leah Murray earned second in the discus, took fifth in the 200 and placed third in the shot put. Keira Stentoft placed fifth in the 50. Isabelle Nordwick placed sixth in the 400 and third in the high jump. Jordyn Breuer took fourth in the high jump. The relay team of Breuer, Murray, Nordwick and Stentoft finished first in one race and third in another race.
For Brockton’s fifth/sixth grade boys, Colter Nygard took second in the shot put and sixth in the discus.
Reese Decoteau finished second in the 50, fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 100 for Brockton’s fifth/sixth grade girls.
