Bulls Lose Baseball Contests At Home


The Post #49 Bulls lost home games against the Billings Blue Jays and Miles City Mavericks in 100-degree temperatures during the weekend.
The Bulls fell to Billings by scores of 16-4 and 28-7 on Friday, July 2.
Behind 6-2 in the first game, the Bulls fought back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Bulls scored on home runs by Issac Johnson and Colter Oie.
The Blue Jays tallied five runs in the fifth and five run in the top of the seventh for a 16-2 advantage.
Walker Ator had three of the Bulls’ 10 hits. Easton Tommerup added two hits. Payton Perkins led the team with two runs batted in.
The Blue Jays scored 13 runs in the fourth in their 28-7 victory in the second game.
Johnson knocked in four runs to lead the Bulls’ offensive attack.
Having two hits each were Kieran Hernandez, Johnson and Oie. Scoring two runs each were Johnson and Zander Dean.
On Saturday, July 3, the Bulls lost to Miles City by scores of 22-11 and 19-8.
The Mavericks gained a 10-2 lead during the first four innings of the opening game. Miles City added seven runs in the top of the seventh.
Johnson accounted for three of the Bulls’ 14 hits including a double and a triple. Braeden Romo, Payton Hauge and Walter Ator had two hits each.
Scoring three runs each for the Bulls were Johnson and Dean. Johnson finished with three runs batted it.
The Mavericks jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second game and posted a 19-8 victory.
The Bulls finished with 10 hits with two hits each from Tommerup, Parker Sinks, Ator and Dean.
Sinks scored three times in the contest. Dean added two runs. Ator accounted for three runs batted in.
The Bulls will compete at a tournament in Glendive this weekend. The Bulls will host Glasgow at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13.
