Children’s Carnival To Benefit Fire Department
People can support the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department and also provide a good time for their children during this year’s Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede.
A children’s carnival, starting at 3 p.m., is scheduled at Firemen’s Park on Saturday, July 10. All proceeds will go to the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department.
“We decided to organize it because it’s hard for kids to find something to do until the Stampede carnival opens,” said Kailey Williamson, one of the event’s organizers.
Each of Wolf Point’s brave firefighters will take turns in the dunk tank. Cost is $1 per throw.
Youngsters will also have the opportunity to feel like a real firefighter as they will be able to spray a fire hose at a prop.
Children can also try their luck at the duck pond for $1. There will be prizes for every duck picked. There will also be water available for $1.
The combination of extremely dry weather conditions and the COVID pandemic have created a challenging year for the local department.
“The fire department has taken a big hit with the COVID pandemic,” Williamson said. “They haven’t been able to do fundraisers like they usually do.”
Last year’s fireman’s ball was canceled because of COVID restrictions. Details for this year’s ball, which is the fire department’s largest fundraiser, are still being finalized.
