Area Team Repeats At Governor’s Cup
The team of Jason Eggebrecht and Ross Lien did it again. They repeated as champions of the Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament in Fort Peck during the weekend.
Eggebrecht of Fort Peck and Lien of Glendive, formerly of Savage, earned first place with a total of 74.47 pounds. Last year, Eggebrecht and Lien had a combined two-day total of 80.97 pounds which gave them a new Montana Governor’s Cup record.
Placing second were Nate Chappell, Miles City, and Mike Chappell, Glasgow, with a two-day total of 72.88 pounds.
Wolf Point’s Whit Rush and Carly Rush earned thirdplace honors at 66.23 pounds.
The Hardin team of Kenny Kepp and Shane Morse took fourth at 61.50 pounds. Adam Mord of Baxter, Minn., and Steve Mord of Wheaton, Minn., placed fifth at 58.17 pounds.
